“<Interrupted = “Cyfem and Queer>” is a series of four events running from spring 2018 till winter 2019 focused on a vision of queer internet, examining the research that has already been done in this area, and collaborating on artistic, activist and other projects. It totally breaks the boundaries between the tech/art/academic world in a question of gender and its reflection in media. What is more,“<Interrupted = “Cyfem and Queer>” also refers to identity politics and resistance formation through the music and art.
During the day and night-long sessions, many topics related to the burgeon digital-queer generation and cyberfeminism will be discussed. The very first experimental symposium will take place on April 28 at Südblock and aquarium in Kreuzberg. The program hasn’t been published yet, however, we can expect conversations, brainstorming sessions, panels, lectures and performances dedicated to broadening the discourse around digital space.
Do you want to participate? Knock ’em dead! The Creamcake founders are calling for all artists, writers, activists, coders, thinkers, and scholars exploring the theoretical, artistic and political histories of our current techno-biopolitical reality. They are looking for academic papers, practice-based reflections; presentation, panel and workshop ideas; and art and music performance contributions related to a quite broad number of topics. More info about the first event, thematic areas and application requirements for participants can be found here.
