One of our favorite festivals is taking place again this October – here’s what you can expect!
“3hd looks at the possibilities for resistance. Sabotage, hacking, and manipulation; diversion, entrapment, and deceit. These are all typically concealed methods serving a political purpose, which form an essential part of grassroots activism and strategies of unlearning.”
The 2018 edition of the festival, organized by the Berlin-based platform Creamcake, bears the theme “System.Lure”, exploring the structures and hierarchies of our society, as well as ways to build and maintain community, and how the current state of media plays into that. As always, 3hd poses a plethora of intriguing questions, trying not to merely entertain the visitors, but to prompt them to brainstorm, protest, and spark change.
This time, 3hd will stretch for almost a week’s worth of time—October 23 to 27—and will find its home at several locations in Berlin: HAU Hebbel am Ufer, Säule, OHM, Kunstquartier Bethanien’s Studio 1, and, for those unable to get to the German capital, the Internet. The program, which will encompass not only concerts and performances, but also installations, workshops, discussion panels, specially curated film program, and online commissions. Here’s the first bunch of artists confirmed for 3hd: Josefin Arnell, Salim Bayri, Philipp Bergmann & Thea Reifler, Nadah El Shazly, FAUNA, Golin, Georges Jacotey, Yony Leyser, MHYSA, Casey MQ, Simone C. Niquille, QT, STILL, Alexa Vachon, Bob Vylan, Ydegirl.
Mark the dates down in your calendars and join us in reinventing the future!
