Some people have it harder than others. French-born, Prague-based illustrator Benjamin Tejero speaks out on behalf of everyone who is unfairly separated in our society through his art.
Text by Polina Korneeva
Benjamin takes his inspiration from things he sees around him every day, and draws a diary of real life as it is: sometimes very harsh. Using his immense talent, Benjamin talks about stigmatisation and neverending pressure attached to the gay and/or queer living experience. In his artworks, you can see pleasure, a love story mixed with a struggle of being The Other in our society. An everyday fight you have to go through if you are deemed “different.”
With his works, Benjamin is trying to encourage people to show their real selves with no fear, to provoke a discussion that could change current social reality. Check out a few of his selected illustrations below.
