Make skateboarding great (and accessible to all) again! Scottish project Doyenne empowers skaters of all genders, races, body types, and abilities.
Doyenne is a Scotland-based skateboarding brand/platform with all-femme team, aiming to create a safe space for everyone interested in the sport. It puts emphasis on creating access and support to every type of skater, including women, LGBTQ people, POCs, and/or people with disabilities; or, in other words, those who are usually quite excluded from the community. Even though the project was launched just last October, its message and values have already had powerful impact on the skateboarding community.
Apart from organizing skate classes and events, Doyenne also releases their own clothing collection. The latest one is full of bright colors, bringing positive vibes to even the gloomiest, rainiest days the Scottish weather sure has to offer. Part of the profit goes to Skatepal, a non-profit organisation which grants the Palestinian youth access to skateboarding through skate class, building skateparks and providing them with equipment.
