Embracing strangeness

Check out this quirky editorial by photographer Iurii Ladutko featuring the latest collection FreakShow by talented fashion designer Dominika Kozakova, reclaiming the word “freak” with pride and joy!

Slovak-born Dominika Kozakova can easily be deemed the rising star of the Czechoslovak fashion scene. Her funky and eccentric outfits, combining various colors, materials, and shapes, have caught the attention of many a fashionista. It is thus no surprise she’s been turning heads with her collections at fashion weeks all over Europe left and right, collecting new fans everywhere she goes.

Photographer Iurii Ladutko captured her FW18 collection FreakShow, styled by yet another up-and-coming talent Phil La Noiraude, in an editorial that is a true parallel to the infamous showcases of the past times exhibiting unruly bodies and minds, deeming everyone who did not fit the society’s expectation of “normal” and “able” as a freak. Limbs distorted, vision blurred, backs twisted to odd positions, queer as fuck: these freaks are coming to get you – and smother you with their unique beauty.
