We demand fair working hours! We demand proper wage and insurance! We demand respect, care, and empowerment! And, last but not least, we demand amazing upcycled work outfits from Berlin-based designer Melisa Minca.
Ok, even though the intro to this article might seem like we’re just taking a piss, we do firmly stand behind everyone fighting for proper treatment at their workplace. This month’s topic is Health, and we believe it is crucial that employers, especially those from big corporates, start actually giving a shit about their workers’ physical and mental wellbeing. It’s time to stop defining people’s worth based on their productiveness, NOW.
But the point of this article is not an anti-capitalist rant, not at all. If you scroll down, you can see a fresh new editorial featuring uniform-inspired garments made by Melisa Minca, who’s a Slovak-born, Berlin-based designer whose mission is to breathe a new life to old clothes and turn them into new fashionable pieces. With sustainability at the core of her up-and-coming brand, she cuts, adjusts, sews, and decorates fabrics, giving them a bold twist with her gentle hand.
This Saturday, July 14, her new collection is launched at the Berlin vintage store Dandy Horse, alongside their own private label. Join us for an evening of upcycled fashion, free drinks, music, and loads of fun! More info can be found here.
