Drag, butt plugs and furry animals. Not your regular fashion week. We sent Melisa Minca to capture the best of this year’s first BAFW.

For two days I got to be a reporter at the BAFW. It took place at Halle am Berghain, which was a nice touch adding even more alternative-ness. Its industrial vibe was a great match with the designs on the runway. Watch an extended best-of video from BAFW 2017.
Here are my highlights:
Eda Yorulmazoglu‘s cheery little colourful creatures danced down the runway. The strangest and cutest thing ever! <3
Twelvepieces won my heart with the colour scheme (shades of nude), oversized bombers and big Arabic prints.
Unfortunately I didn’t make it to Patrick Mason‘s Maison Mason show. :'( He’s amazing!
I was leaving with a bouquet of flowers because CHRISTEENE brought hundreds to her very fragrant performance. It might be the most gruesome and awesome performance I have ever seen (yeaaah, maybe I haven’t seen that much in my life :D). Standing and cheering right below her (she performed on a wooden crate in the middle of the dancefloor surrounded by the flowers), I soon realized this was going to be an ‘interactive’ show. After Christeene had removed a butt plug onto which a bunch of helium balloons had been attached, she forced an unassuming guy’s face from the audience into her ass and spat coke at everybody.
