An intersectional multi-media exhibition gathering twenty-five artists together – that's how feminists celebrate their 25th birthdays!
Turning twenty-five, or being on this strange planet for the whole quarter of a century, sure is a significant event in one’s life. How to throw a celebration to do this special day proper justice? So many choices, so many decisions!
So when Natalie Kollega and Anna Wim (our editor-in-chief), great friends and partners in curating and organizing events, realized that they both reach this milestone during this #hotgirlsummer, they decided to do something more special than just a party that leaves everyone with a huge hangover and an empty wallet. Instead, they put together a reprise of their Christmas feminist art show in Prague.
The show took place on August 31, at the multifunctional space Prostor39. It’s aim was to explore the topic of “becoming” as “becoming aware, becoming curious, becoming reluctant of following the norms, “becoming” instead of “coming out.” It included works from Anna Wim, Anto Christ, Eliza Coulton, Emilie Chabridon, Eva Wǒ, Hello Rooster’s project Believe ALL Survivors (with Bee Illustrates, Frizzkidart, Ggggrimes, hellomynameisWednesday, Jacob V Joyce, Rudy Loewe, SaltandChilliEmma, Soofiya), Huss, Michelle Gutiérrez Fernández, Petros Aronis, Rachel de la Torre, Rory Midhani, Rosie Hart, Sonja Ovaskainen, Sonya the moon, Stacie Ant, Tabitha Swanson, and @youngandamazingg.
