Limited tie-dye collection, freshly customized clothes, inked skin, beer with tequila, DJs spinning fresh tunes, girl power, and lots of fun. Lena Luga captured what went down at the Kink x Recycle launch in Prague!
You probably already know we have teamed up with the Prague-based Recycle Vintage Store to deliver an exclusive upcycled collection – either you saw some of the multiple social media posts we spammed you with, or—best case scenario—you joined us at the launch on Thursday the 23rd in Prague. Sad that you missed it? Don’t worry, we asked the talented photographer Lena Luga to capture the essence of the event! But be prepared: we love her pictures so much we couldn’t decide which ones to leave out, so a real bunch of them is awaiting you below.
If it’s the first time you hear about the collaboration (where were you the past two weeks?), let us recap a little: the launch took place at Kampus Hybernska in Prague on a warm summer night a few days ago. Both the collection and the event were connected by a single theme: empowerment! The upcycled shirts, jumpers, tees, and bags sported messages emphasizing personal and collective support and acceptance, accompanied by a unique illustration by Czech artist Bara Ruzickova all attendees could either decorate their own clothes with via the screen printing workshop with Juliana from Fatcat Press, or purchase as posters. Since the collab was made by an all-girl team, all of the artists we asked to participate in the event were femme too, aiming to give them all an accessible and, of course, empowering platform. We had Lenka and Sarah to give stick’n’poke tattoos for free to people, music by Ida Elastic and New Magic Media, and lovely Miriama taking care of the drinks. Huge thanks goes to Desperados for helping us make this event come true!
If you’d still love to pimp your closet (or your bedroom walls) up with some of the great pieces from our collection, head to Recycle Vintage Store on Veverkova 8, there’s still some pieces left!
